Baotou has accelerated the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries since the beginning of this year to make Baotou manufacturing more intelligent.

According to the municipal bureau of industry and information technology, Baotou took the lead in comprehensively promoting the digital transformation and upgrading of traditional industries in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, and built an industrial internet platform development system involving mainly industry-level platforms but also enterprise-level platforms.

The city's 5G network construction and application scenarios are being continuously developed. So far, 3,967 5G base stations have been built in Baotou, and the 5G signals in its main urban area and the main areas of banners, counties and districts have achieved full coverage.

The 5G construction of nine industrial parks in the city is gradually advancing, and three of them have achieved wide coverage of 5G networks, promoting the construction of "smart parks".

More than 3,340 enterprises in the city have registered and applied on various internet platforms and cloud platforms. In the first quarter, cloud service purchases by key enterprises on various platforms were valued at 10.41 million yuan ($1.55 million), and new revenue of enterprise equipment on the cloud was 20.5 million yuan.

The Operation Command Center has also been built and put into use, providing infrastructure support for real-time monitoring of urban operation status in Baotou and cross-departmental coordinated handling of major events. The center has gathered 24.11 million pieces of various types of data. So far, it has provided 13 million pieces of data for various departments.
