Baotou has embarked on a new path of high-quality development for its agricultural and livestock product processing industry in recent years by attracting investment, enhancing the influence of local brands, and supporting the development and growth of new business entities.

The city has accelerated the construction of an agricultural and livestock product processing industry base and promoted the green transformation of the industry. It is striving to to raise the industry's output value to more than 100 billion yuan ($14.79 billion) by the end of 2025.

As of the end of July, the city had connected with 153 agricultural and animal husbandry enterprises and signed agreements for 96 projects with a contract value of 46.38 billion yuan.

By cultivating, introducing and building influential and competitive enterprises and other market players, the city has raised products' added value, industrial efficiency and farmers' incomes. A total of 108 local excellent brands and 88 famous food brands were screened out and included in the brand library.

There are currently 215 municipal leading enterprises and 288 municipal demonstration cooperatives. Baotou also chooses existing enterprise products to create well-known brands and is aiming to increase the sales revenue of 10 brands such as KingDeer and Dongbao Bio-Tech to over 100 million yuan.

In addition, the "Baotou Agriculture and Animal Husbandry" app has become the city's first professional platform to provide farmers and herdsmen with comprehensive information services related to policy consultation, production and operation.
