An online meeting on Oct 13 held by the Baotou municipal government made it clear that among the 12 key industrial chains and eight industrial clusters designated by Inner Mongolia autonomous region, the development of a new energy automobile industry chain will be led by Beiben Trucks Group Co in Baotou.

"After successfully putting 10,000 new energy heavy trucks on the streets, it will reduce carbon emissions by 1.2 million metric tons and standard coal consumption by 3.6 million tons, effectively improve air quality and eliminate noise pollution, and improve transportation efficiency by more than 50 percent," said He Qing, chairman of the enterprise.

Four companies focusing on the construction and operation of the charging and changing power station, transport capacity development and vehicle holding, vehicle financing and battery banking, and after-sales service have been brought in by the Baotou government, meeting overall vehicle demand in the city.

At present, scenario implementation and product development have been completed, and 2,650 new energy heavy trucks have been contracted.
