This year, 136.1 billion yuan ($18.71 billion) has been invested in 902 major projects in Baotou – 96.5 percent of the annual goal.

Since September, the Baotou municipal government has held three political and business talks for enterprises. The service windows of relevant government departments in the city are open throughout the year. This not only has allowed the major projects to be launched smoothly, but has also attracted more high-quality enterprises and major projects to Baotou.

Li Changqing, director of the project office of the Baotou development and reform commission, said that so far 161 projects, including the 100,000-metric-ton per year high-purity polysilicon green energy circular economy construction project (Phase I) with an investment of 8.8 billion yuan, have been completed, and more than 300 projects are expected to be completed throughout the year.

In addition, after three rounds of solicitation, the city has reserved 512 major projects for next year, with a total investment of 531.5 billion yuan.
