Baotou's economy from January to October was boosted tanks to strong industry, a rebound in investment, and recovery in consumption. The added value of industries above designated size increased by 17.8 percent year on year, ranking first in Inner Mongolia autonomous region for 16 consecutive months.

The revenue of industrial enterprises above designated size in the city increased by 25.6 percent year on year, while the photovoltaic manufacturing industry grew an impressive 112.5 percent.

Fixed asset investment increased by 30 percent year on year, 24.2 and 7.2 percentage points higher than that of the country and autonomous region, respectively. Investment in high-tech manufacturing increased by 135.4 percent.

In addition, the overall level of consumer prices rose by 1.4 percent year on year.
