Baotou conference leads to significant foreign investment
The Baotou (Shanghai) Foreign Investment Promotional Conference was held in Shanghai on Dec 20, during which three banners, districts, and counties in Baotou signed three project cooperation agreements worth a total of 8.55 billion yuan ($1.22 billion).
The event was attended by leaders and staff members of several international Institutions and organizations, including the EU Youth Business Council, Economic and Commercial Office of the Embassy of Latvian Embassy in China, and the Austcham Shanghai, The Chinese General Chamber of Commerce, Hong Kong.
Representatives of another 50 foreign-funded enterprises attended as well.

"Baotou is a city rich in wind and solar power generation resources and mineral resources," said Wang Jian, person in charge of the contracting party Network Load Storage New Energy Technology (Shanghai) Co.
"Our company signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Baotou's Bayan Obo mining district, which included the construction of a zero-carbon city and a zero-carbon export processing base, in order to further promote the development of the hydrogen energy and new energy industry in Baotou." Wang added.
In the negotiation area of Hondlon district, promotion of the science and technology industrial chain in the district attracted the attention of many foreign-funded enterprises such as MetaLab.
