Baotou has carried out sci-tech innovation to save water at industrial enterprises, transformed new technologies, new processes and new achievements in industrial water saving, and focused on promoting water-saving science and technology in areas such as sewage treatment, recycling water and wastewater recycling.

The city is helping Inner Mongolia Baogang Group Environmental Engineering Research Institute Co carry out the "high-salt wastewater near-zero discharge key technology and efficient recycling and demonstration of water resources" project, giving 250,000 yuan in ($34,507) funding support and introducing the company to the senior research team of Wuchang Yongzheng from the Chinese Academy of Environmental Sciences.

At the same time, Baotou has cultivated innovation platforms in the field of water saving in Inner Mongolia autonomous region. The city cultivated two research and development centers for wastewater treatment.

In addition, in order to boost the commercialization and application of water-saving technology, Baotou has vigorously promoted the use of the technologies in areas such as washing recycling water, sewage treatment and reuse, and water reuse by industrial enterprises.
