A total of 45 Malaysian students from Beijing Jiaotong University recently received training at Baotou Railway Vocational and Technical College – located in Baotou city, in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region.

They're completing 10 weeks of specialized study at the college.

After a week of study, the international students said they had already learned some great practical knowledge.

Lin Zhengsheng, an international student receiving training, said: "We learned how to interpret train signals, as well as repair and maintain trains."

Another student, Tan Long'er, commented: "For girls, many practical training tasks are quite physically demanding. Fortunately, the teachers and friends are very kind and helped me solve many problems".

Jiang Fan, a teacher in the railway engineering department of Baotou Railway Vocational and Technical College, has participated in railway skills training for international students many times.

"Currently, Chinese railway technology is developing rapidly," he said.

"We are willing to share our technology with overseas students to promote the development of the railway industry on both sides."

The organization and implementation of the training is said to have not only provided the expat students with high-quality learning resources, but also further promoted deep cooperation and exchanges between Baotou college and Beijing Jiaotong University.

Moving forwards, plans are for the college to continue to promote the sharing and complementarity of educational resources – with the aim of making a greater contribution to cultivating talent with international vision and competitiveness.
