Development zone in Baotou nurtures sci-tech enterprises
Since the beginning of this year, the Baotou Rare Earth High-tech Industrial Development Zone has been focusing on enhancing the innovation capabilities of enterprises, supporting the development of a number of companies, including Inner Mongolia North Hauler Joint Stock Co.
The development zone is located in Baotou, North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region.
In the first half of this year, the company received 3 million yuan ($420,069) in funding as a reward for being a leading technology enterprise. This achievement was made possible by the scientific and technological innovation bureau of the development zone, which assisted in applying to higher authorities.

Pei Jie, the company's person in charge of such matters, stated that the next step is to use the 3 million yuan for the development of the NTH260 oil-electric hybrid mining truck project, focusing on researching and tackling key core technologies such as the oil-electric hybrid power system and the overall vehicle architecture design.
This year, the development zone is helping enterprises establish new R&D institutions or jointly establishing them with universities and research institutes, and helping universities, research institutes, and leading enterprises set up R&D branches.
The zone currently has 199 national and autonomous region-level innovation platforms, promoting the implementation of over 500 sci-tech achievements.
