In May 2020, the total retail sales of consumer goods sold by enterprises above the designated size (wholesale enterprises with annual main business income over 20 million yuan or $2.85 million, retail enterprises with annual main business income over five million yuan, and accommodation and catering enterprises with annual business income over two million yuan) in Shenyang amounted to 11.88 billion yuan, of which online retail sales totaled 3.08 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 5.7 percent. Meanwhile, the contribution rate of online retail to the growth of the consumer goods market is also increasing.
Statistics show that in May 2020, online retail sales accounted for 25.9 percent of retail sales of consumer goods above designated size. The logistics express network has provided a significant guarantee for Shenyang's online retail sales growth. The volume of express delivery in the city in May reached 41.04 million packages, up 51 percent. The average daily volume reached 1.32 million.
