With the increasing influence of the Internet on daily life, more and more women, especially young ladies, are active on the Internet. The Municipal Women’s Federation has set up an Online Women’s Federation to combine the Internet with the work of the women’s federation.

Aimed at women using the Internet, the Online Women’s Federation focuses on women’s themes. It will build an Internet platform for women to show their elegance, express their emotions and discuss topics.

“There are many active female netizens on our BBS. They are enthusiastic about public welfare and usually participate in different kinds of activities,” said Xiao Qiang, the newly-elected president of the Online Women’s Federation. She said that the Online Women’s Federation will adopt “online work and offline activities” in order to pay more attention to women’s needs and guarantee their rights. It provides more chances to career women who cannot leave work but can get online to express their voice and participate in activities.
