By Feng Hui | chinadaily.com.cn | Updated: August 1, 2013

Taicang is taking part in China’s first general survey on national movable cultural relics – concerning paintings, coins, archaeological objects and other items – which was launched on August 1, in a bid to gather basic data and set up a protection system.

The first national general survey on movable relics involves government agencies, institutions, state-owned companies and the army. Taicang has established 12 teams that are taking part in the initiative, and investigators will present a letter from the Bureau of Cultural Relics in Jiangsu Province, their work permits and a municipal government document, in order to carry out their inspections.
