Tour of Taicang Modern Agricultural Park promotes environmental protection

Members of the general public recently took part in a one-day tour in Taicang Modern Agricultural Park, to increase awareness of environmental protection, and the visitors had the chance to experience the natural environment of Suzhou rural areas.

The one-day tour included 4 venues in the Taicang Modern Agricultural Park: Endian Rose Park, Flower and Gardening Exhibition Hall, Modern Agricultural Exhibition Hall and the Wetland Museum. The Chinese rose is the city flower of Taicang, and Endian Rose Park commemorates the contribution of the Lady of the Chinese Rose, Jiang Endian, to the breeding of roses in China. The park includes the Endian memorial hall, Chinese rose exhibition area,, a church and Chinese rose teahouse. Endian Rose Park boasts many trees, lawns, Chinese roses, small bridges, pavilions and tea houses, contributing to an atmosphere of peace and calm.

The Modern Agricultural Exhibition Hall covers an area of 6000 square meters and is a greenhouse that showcases high-tech agricultural cultivation techniques, as well as 300 special plants such as giant pumpkins.

The Flower and Gardening Exhibition Hall is also a greenhouse, covering an area of 4800 square meters. It is divided into 20 zones, including a tropical style zone, potted landscape zone, orchid zone, Guyana zone, Egypt zone, Singapore zone, France zone and China zone, showcasing more than 480 flowers and plants.

The Wetland Museum, covering an area of 4000 square meters, is a man-made indoor ecological wetland landscape, and visitors can see rare plants and animals such as giant turtles and ornamental carps. Taicang Modern Agricultural Park plans to organize another activity to educate the general public about environmental protection.
