The 2013 China (Zhangjiagang) Yangtze River Culture Festival opened in Zhangjiagang of Jiangsu province on November 2.

With no superstars or luxurious stage, the 10-minute opening ceremony was very frugal. It is the festival’s 10th year, and it aims to attract more people to join in and enjoy themselves.

After the opening ceremony, 27 teams from 12 provinces, cities and districts performed at the fifth Yangtze River Folk Art Festival. The parade attracted a lot of people.

This year the culture festival focuses more on artistic style, showing the natural and simple style of culture along the Yangtze River.

Finals for the fifth China Theater Awards short play and comedy skit will be held in the culture centers of towns and districts, enabling more people to enjoy the excellent performances.
