Suzhou’s combination of history and culture and its modern business environment have made it a distinct destination city in Jiangsu province. Gusu district (home to the old part of Suzhou) and the industrial park signed a memorandum of understanding on cultural tourism on November 4, 2013, agreeing to share cultural tourism resources, work to mutually enhance advanced industries and promote tourism in both districts.

According to the MOU, the districts will cooperate on tourism promotions and set up a tourism brand and image as a whole. Scenic spots in the two districts will be carefully selected to create an exquisite one-day tour. The move will allow tourists to experience ancient and modern Suzhou in one day.
