The sixth embroidery culture art festival opened in Zhenhu area, known as the “home of Chinese embroidery art”, in Suzhou, Jiangsu province, on November 12, 2013.

During the two-week festival, a heritage protection seminar, Shanhua award winning works exhibition and a new artists exhibition will be held.

Zhenhu has held the festival for five years to show the special charm of Suzhou-style embroidery art.

Zhang Wei, vise-president of Zhenhu embroidery association, said they hope to get more development ideas and enhance the level of the embroidery industry by holding the festival. It is hoped it will attract more investment, encouraging innovation, promote cooperation between embroidery artists, painters and photographers, and protect the copy rights of embroidery works.
