Suzhou was listed as one of the 10 best Chinese leisure cities, according to a 2013 China leisure city development evaluation released by the National Technical Committee 498 on Leisure by the Standardization Administration and China Tourism Association on November 28, 2013.

The other nine cities were Chengdu, Nanning, Ningbo, Yantai, Hangzhou, Qinhuangdao, Huangshan, Liuzhou and Changde.

Changshu tops the list of China’s top 10 small leisure cities for 2013. The other nine are Putuo and Tiantai in Zhejiang province, Langxi and She county in Anhui province, Puze in the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, Kai county in Chongqing, Pi county in Sichuan province, Kuandian in Liaoning province and Penglai in Shandong province.
