The Animal Kingdom exhibition kicked off at Fenghuang Square in Suzhou of Jiangsu province on December 27, 2013.

Models of prehistoric animals such as archaeopteryx, apatosaurus, mammoths and saber-toothed tigers as well as other animals are on display at the exhibition.

Fenghuang Square covers an area of nearly 1,000 square meters and is near the Suzhou bookstore.

Animal Kingdom is the first exhibition held in the square. It is organized by Phoenix Exhibition and the professional science organization Shi-Shang HANSA. The show costs more than 1 million yuan ($165,183) and is the largest show featuring simulation models of Shi-Shang HANSA on the Chinese mainland.

The square is separated into nine areas, including rainforest animals, polar region animals, ocean animals and ancient animals. Models of hundreds of animals are on display.

The exhibition also features a Noah’s Ark with animals standing on it to avoid the flood.

All the models are hand-made with around 860 kinds of furs, and more than 6,000 sets of eyes, beards, paws and noses. The models look realistic and can shake their heads and wag their tails.

The exhibition will run through the end of February 2014. The organizers hope that the exhibition will highlight many extinct creatures and call on people to protect the environment.
