A parent-child garden in Taicang Modern Agricultural Park has been completed and is expected to open next year, providing citizens with a new place for recreation.

The Parent-Child Garden is a key project of the Modern Agricultural Park. It has an investment of 2 million yuan ($329,413) and covers an area of 120 acres. Designed by a professional design company, the garden has fruit trees, a rope bridge, large toys and parent-child facilities. It is an ideal place for children and teens to learn through play.

Over the last decade, Taicang has focused on the balanced development of production, life and ecology. It has invested 1 billion ($164.7 million) to build the charming Modern Agricultural Park, which offers clean water, trees, flowers, a quiet environment and fresh air.

Taicang pays attention to the ecological construction of the park. It has built 10 green gardens in the park, including a plum garden, Chinese rose garden, parent-child garden, bamboo garden and orchid garden. The green coverage rate now reaches 65 percent. The park has also built a sewage treatment plant and a supporting pipe network, with a daily sewage treatment capacity of 400 tons. In addition, the park has promoted the irrigation of nutrient solutions to reduce agricultural pollution and boost the development of ecology, economy and society.

The Modern Agricultural Park was rated a national agricultural industrialization demonstration base and a national 4A scenic spot.
