At the provincial teleconference of the third economic census on December 27, 2013, all municipal governments in Jiangsu were asked to fully recognize the significance of the census, creating a clear picture and an accurate base number. The Taicang government listened to the teleconference at its meeting place.

In light of the State’s overall plan, the registration of the third National Economic Census formally entered the stage of census as of January 1, 2014 . The census will give a comprehensive survey of the secondary and tertiary industries, including industry scale, industry distribution, industrial structure, industrial technology and the elements of productivity. It will further verify the recent developments of the service industry, strategic emerging industry, cultural industry and small enterprises to outline the basic situation. The statistics office in Taicang will actively implement work duties, enhance coordination, and investigate all units and individual businesses, ensuring registration data is reliable and surveying 100 percent of all household.

The Taicang government has placed attention recently on the economic census, focusing on key areas and enhancing propaganda and mobilization work, guaranteeing the registration put in place in the aspects of organizational leadership, members selection, work operation and logistics service.
