Mini moth orchids, which are the same shape and color as normal orchids only smaller, have become popular in Suzhou of Jiangsu province.

It is a common tradition to decorate homes with flowers during Spring Festival.

In the green house of the Suzhou vegetable research center, mini moth orchids of different colors are in full bloom. More than 60,000 flowers are planted in the 4,000-square-meter green house each year.

Mini moth orchids are 20 centimeters shorter than normal orchids and contain 15 colors. The blossoming period is three month, two months longer than usual.

Moth orchids are famous for their elegance and beauty. In the past, orchids with larger red flowers were hot, but now people prefer mini moth orchids.

The flowers cost 25 yuan ($4.12) per plant.
