Suzhou High-Tech Zone attracts over 10 million visitors

Tourist attractions in the Suzhou High-Tech Zone received over 10 million tourists in 2013, an increase of 20 percent. Tourism revenue hit 314 million yuan ($51.52 million), up 22 percent compared with last year.

In 2013, the high-tech zone vigorously promoted eco-tourism featuring natural beauty, ecology and culture. It also constructed several tourism projects including Suzhou Amusement Land and Shishan Square.

During National Day last year, the high-tech zone held the third Suzhou RV Camping Rally 2013, attracting 34,000 visitors over six days.

The Taihu levee cultural and creative program combines Taihu Lake scenery and culture, becoming a new highlight of the high-tech zone.

The high-tech zone is a national development zone with four 4A scenic spots. It has strengthened promotion of its distinctive natural and ecological resources to help the scenic spots build unique tourism models.
