Suzhou will launch a series of activities in classic gardens to help locals and visitors enjoy Spring Festival.

Tiger Hill will hold a 2014 celebration campaign from Jan 31 - Feb 6, featuring Gusu’s folk customs for the New Year.

The Humble Administrator's Garden will display colorful flower bonsais during the holiday.

The Lingering Garden will host the 16th Spring Festival Flower Show represented by camellias.

In addition, a plum blossom exhibition will kick off on January 23 in the Lion Grove Garden, displaying splendid plum blossoms together with azaleas and daffodils.

The Master-of-Nets Garden will provide Pingtan performances -- a kind of storytelling and ballad singing in the Suzhou dialect -- from Feb 1-4 between 9:30 -11:30 am and 1:00 - 4:00 pm each day. There will also be a Kunqu opera performance in the Surging Wave Pavilion from 1:00 - 3:30 pm on February 2.

Drinking olive tea is a traditional custom for Suzhou citizens during Spring Festival. Olive tea is made with green olives that look like gold ingots. Citizens and visitors can enjoy olive tea in the following gardens: the Master-of-Nets Garden and Surging Wave Pavilion on Jan 31 - Feb 5 from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, the Humble Administrator's Garden and Suzhou Park on Jan 31, and the Lingering Garden from Jan 31 – Feb 14.

During Spring Festival holidays, the Suzhou Zoo will show two pairs of newly introduced alpacas and llamas and hold parent-child interactive games to send wishes to visitors for the New Year.
