Linjiangxian is the first folk-style inn to open in Shaxi town of Taicang. Although still in trial operation, the inn has attracted many visitors. Xu Xiaojian, the owner, is bullish on the inn’s prospects.

The inn was rebuilt from three independent two-story houses and consists of five rooms. Each room has a TV, a bathroom and archaized furniture, creating a clean but nostalgic atmosphere. The rooms are suitable for both individuals and families since each building is independent, according to Xu. The inn offers classic-style bedrooms and sitting rooms.

Besides lodging, catering services are also available with advanced booking. According to Xu, their catering options are fresh and cheap.

The head of the inn hopes to make Linjiangxian a well-known brand that can attract more visitors to the town.

According to Shaxi Tourism Development Co, the second folk-style inn, Yijiangnan, will finish decorations in the near future. The company hopes that the inns can encourage tourists to visit and live in the town to experience its authentic folk culture and customs.
