Taicang, Changshu and Zhangjiagang recently jointly released a friendship cities card. With the card, tourists can visit more than 20 scenic spots in the three cities for free. Here are some recommendations:

Modern Agricultural Park

Modern Agricultural Park is home to more than 300 kinds of plants. At present, it has accomplished the construction of a Chinese rose park, a rose mountain villa, an ecological restaurant in an egret park and an indoor wetland museum. Visitors can enjoy both the beautiful scenery and delicacies together.

Shajiabang - Yushan Mountain and Shanghu Lake tourist area

Shajiabang - Yushan Mountain and the Shanghu Lake tourist area includes two national 5A scenic areas, a national historical cultural town, 10 provincial cultural protection units and five intangible cultural heritages.

Every year, the scenic area holds a series of tourist activities, such as the Shajiabang Tourist Festival, the Shanghu Lake Peony Show, the Shanghu Lake Beer Festival, the Yushan Baoyan Waxberry Festival and a folk custom festival.

The scenic area has built itself into a forest park based on the four seasons. The dragon boat contest, folk custom exhibition, kite show and wu songs (a ballad from the south Yangtze River region) concert also reflect Shajiabang’s culture.

Fenghuang Mountain scenic area

The Fenghuang Mountain scenic area is famous for its magnificent mountains, beautiful scenery and historical sites.

Literati of different dynasties have left their poems on Xiufeng Cliff. Located along the cliff’s side is Li Spring, a natural stony well. Although it was dug in ancient times, the well still spews pure spring water today. On the southwestern side of the cliff is Zhi Mountain, which is covered by a 400-acre peach orchard. The peaches produced there are sweet and juicy, popular both at home and abroad.

Besides the above scenic spots, tourists with the friendship cities card can also visit for free the Jiangxiang rural tourist area in Changshu, the square pagoda historical site, the Xiangshan mountain scenic area in Zhangjiagang and the south garden in Taicang.
