It was sunny in Suzhou of Jiangsu province on March 30, 2014, after a spring rain. A rape flower festival began at Yangcheng Lake recently, providing chances for visitors to enjoy the beautiful scenery, go camping and fly kites.

There are more than 666,667 square meters of rape flowers at Yangcheng Lake Resort. The flowers, in full bloom beside fields, pools, lakes and even around houses, depict a typical Jiangnan picture.

“Local Suzhou residents are so happy that they could see beautiful flowers near their homes,” said a tourist surnamed Zhou from Shanghai.

Zhou said he knew that rape flowers blossom at Yangcheng Lake and couldn’t wait one more minute to see the scenery with his family.

Pan Erqiang, an official from Lotus Island in Yangcheng Lake Resort, said more than 10,000 people have visited the island this year.

Experts warned that the temperature changes dramatically between day and night in spring, and people should watch the weather forecast before going out.
