Construction of the Shihu Lake ecological park in Suzhou of Jiangsu province will finish at the end of the year.

As one of the main green lands in southwest Suzhou, the park covers an area of 20,000 square meters and has an investment of 4 billion yuan ($644.6 million).

The park, which started construction in August 2013, has several parts. The basic structure of the bridge at Wuyue Road is ready. The construction of the central pool has started.

Du Guoling, chairwoman of the Standing Committee of the Suzhou Municipal People's Congress, visited the construction site on April 1. She said the natural resources at the Shihu Lake scenic area are rich and precious, so construction of the area should be careful.
