Spring outings popular in Suzhou

During the Tomb-Sweeping Festival holiday, appreciating flowers in a spring outing was the most popular recreational travel activity. According to feedback from websites like LY.com and Tuniu.com, family and parent-child tours accounted for over half, followed by lover and friend tours.

Statistics from the booking centre of LY.com show that the top 10 most popular tourist cities in China during the Tomb-Sweeping Festival holiday were Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Suzhou, Xiamen, Chengdu, Guilin and Qingdao. The top 10 most popular scenic spots were Changzhou China Dinosaur Land, Shanghai Wildlife Zoo, the Giant Buddha on Ling Mountain in Wuxi, Zhouzhuang in Kunshan, Wuxi Yuantouzhu (Turtle Head Island), Slender West Lake in Yangzhou, Lingnan Impression Park, Shanghai Changfeng Sea World, Qingdao Polar Region Sea World and Hengdian World Studios.

 The tourist analysis report issued by LY.com indicated that nearly 70 percent of visitors chose short-distance travel, and the booking number for one-or-two-day routes increased by 40 percent. Data from Tuniu.com showed that the number of people booking self-driving tours increased by 30 percent. Popular destinations for self-driving tours include Qiandao (“Thousand Islands”) Lake, Dongqian Lake, Qiyun Mountain and Taihu Lake.

On Tomb-Sweeping Festival, each family visits their ancestor’s tombs. After that, family members, parents and children like to travel, as a result the routes were very popular. In Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai, the top three bookings were of Changzhou China Dinosaur Land, Shanghai Wildlife Zoo and the Giant Buddha on Ling Mountain in Wuxi.
