The 2014 China Jiangnan Peony Culture Festival, part of the 2014 China Taicang Seafood Festival and Tourism Cultural Festival, will take place in Taicang’s Yuan Garden on April 12. Ten major activities will be launched during the festival, so visitors can not only appreciate the beautiful peony, but also enjoy delicious food, watch performances and play bridge.

Thanks to the fine weather, over 40,000 peonies of about 300 varieties are in full bloom, attracting more than 4,000 visitors a day. One 100 -year-old peony is 1.5 meters tall and has a circumference of 5 meters.

Taicang Yuan Garden has seen many improvements. The Dai-style villas along the river have been renovated. The Yuan Garden Hotel has been transformed into a modern and elegant facility, where expert chefs provide delicious food for up to 1,200 guests. And the Life CS field has been upgraded for people to practice fixed or moving target shooting.

Honored as the best peony garden in the Jiangnan area (regions south of Yangtze River), Taicang Yuan Garden is one of the major sites of the Yangtze River Estuary Tourist Resort. Yuan Garden focuses on eco-culture and peonies, integrating Loudong culture and romantic culture. This year Taicang Yuan Garden highlights its tourism theme of peonies, seafood and Jiangnan scenery.
