The first Suzhou International Tourism Expo kicked off in the Suzhou International Expo Center on April 12. Thirteen exhibitors from Taicang took part in the exposition.

In combination with promoting the ongoing food festival and tourism festival by handing out promotion materials, the Taicang exhibition hall introduced its distinctive tourism routes and agricultural products. The Taicang tourism bureau also invited an art troupe to play the Jiangnan sizhu (a Chinese traditional string and woodwind instrument) on site. The melodious music stopped many visitors in their tracks in front of the booth to enjoy music and take photos.

Taicang also worked with the Changshu and Zhangjiagang pavilions to jointly highlight their tourism and attract visitors.

With coverage of 17,000 square meters, the expo set up more than 550 booths for 200 exhibitors across the country, ranging from local tourist attractions to world heritage sites and from national scenic spots to large theme parks. The activity ran through April 14.
