A special tourism product was released during the Qingming Festival holiday in Suzhou of Jiangsu province.

The product enables no more than 20 tourists at a time to visit the Humble Administrator’s Garden one hour before it officially opens to the public at a higher price of 188 yuan ($30.27) per person.

The first group of 13 tourists bought the product during the holiday and gave positive reviews.

The second group of 10 tourists visited the garden on April 13, 2014.

Many tourists feel gardens in Suzhou are always noisy and crowded, and long lines of visitors plague the ticket office before they open.

Now visitors have a chance to see the gardens before they open to the public in the morning.

An official from the Suzhou municipal administrative bureau of gardens says custom-made tourism products for gardens in Suzhou are provided for a free trial run. The products will be assessed by market demand and customer response. If they are good, the other gardens will also provide such products.

There are more than 20 tour guides in the Humble Administrator’s Garden. Three were chosen after a strict test to provide service for the custom product.

Wang Yingying, one of the three, guided the first group of 13 tourists.

“Tourists in the first group are from Beijing, Guangzhou and Jiangsu. Most of them are in their 40s or 50s. The youngest was 6 or 7 years old.”

At 6:30 am, the tourists entered the garden.

Wang said she was impressed by the quiet environment of the garden, and she had a long time to communicate with the tourists. She also had the chance to introduce the Suzhou lifestyle and local snacks.

Fang Dong, a business manager of the company running the project, said visitors can experience a private garden before the gardens are open or after they are closed.

“Visitors will feel like they are having a morning walk in their own garden with the sound of birds singing and water flowing.”
