Eco-tourism pushed as main theme in Suzhou

Events centered on eco-tourism will be held in six scenic areas in the Suzhou National New & Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone in Jiangsu province.

The zone has are more than 26 square kilometers of forest and 26 square kilometers of green land. The events aim to give local residents more spring outing choices.

Pear flowers at Shushan Village blossom in the spring. Tourism routes following flowers in bloom and local taste are being promoted, as visitors can see the sights, enjoy hot springs, taste local freshness and experience the elegance of tea art.

At the scenic spot of Dragon Pond, more than 100,000 tulips are in full bloom. The scenic area is decorated in a Dutch style to give visitors an exotic flavor.

At Suzhou Amusement Land, a horse theme has been adopted since this is the year of the horse according to the Chinese lunar calendar. Circus performers will be at the park.

Suzhou West Eco-City is collecting 100,000 photos of smiling faces of youths, photographers, visitors and campers to convey happiness to others.

The 5th scarecrow art festival is being held at Suzhou Taihu Lake Wetland Park. Besides looking at different styles of scarecrows, visitors can also make their own.
