The Spring International Cultural Industry Fair (ICIF) kicked off on May 6 in Suzhou’s antiques city. Many antiques merchants, enterprises, auction companies and collectors from around the country are at the fair to showcase their products, attracting flocks of antiques enthusiasts. The fair will run through May 8.

Suzhou’s antiques city is the largest collection trade center in Jiangsu province. It serves as a platform to display, identify and sell antiques and artworks.

The fair covers an exhibition area of over 3,000 square meters, with many works of calligraphy and paintings from celebrities, quality antiques and ivory carvings on display.

An antique dealer surnamed Liu from Beijing said, “I have taken part in fairs of this kind twice last year. Suzhou is a historical city with a profound culture. It has provided more opportunities to buy and sell antiques.”

An auction will be held on May 7 from 1:00 to 5:00 pm, with about 300 porcelains, jade articles, bamboo and wooden carvings and other antiques on offer.
