The Taicang Urban Planning Exhibition Hall, located near Tianjinghu Lake, opened to the public on May 4.

Covering an area of 10,000 square meters, the exhibition hall is shaped like two fish. The hall is themed around “Dream of Taicang” and is divided into five pavilion areas to present Taicang’s historical development and future plans. The hall focuses on high-tech means to display the city’s profound culture. One of the pavilions is designed as a rice barn to better showcase Taicang’s origin. Another pavilion features “old street” decorations, giving the feeling of being in an “old street” in a small town in the Jiangnan region.

Some interactive facilities are available to the public. They combine the city’s historical development with new achievements to show Taicang’s great changes. The experience zone allows visitors to drive the “future low-carbon cars” to experience the future. The sand table area in the hall measures up to 800 square meters, the largest in the country.

Free tours require valid certificates such as an ID card, student card, senior citizen card, military officer certificate or passport.
