June 5 was World Environment Day. The environmental protection bureau in Taicang launched a promotion at the Center Square to celebrate the international day for environment protection.

During the event, the environmental protection bureau, along with the municipal propaganda department and volunteers, distributed eco-bags and propaganda leaflets to citizens. They answered public concerns about the environment and called on more public efforts in promoting a low-carbon and green lifestyle.

This year's environment day was themed around "Declaring War on Pollution," aiming to stimulate public awareness of environmental issues and encourage all parts of society to work together for environmental improvement.
