A new tour line using streetcars in the Suzhou National Hi-Tech District (SND) has been tested, and the Streetcar Line 1 will start a trial run in late June.

The 18-kilometer tour line has 10 stops that include several tourist attractions, such as Suzhou Amusement Land, Baimajian Ecological Park and Dayangshan National Forest Park.

Widely known as “the Disney World of China”, Suzhou Amusement Land is located at the center of Suzhou New District. Visitors can get back to nature and enjoy modern civilization at this classic fairground featuring whimsical architecture.

The Baimajian Ecological Park and Dayangshan National Forest Park are considered the quiet oasis of the district. Featuring a beautiful natural environment and time-honored cultural background, they are considered a first choice for vacation spots.

The route also includes the Viaduct of Taihu Avenue, linking the district with the urban area in Suzhou, and passengers can appreciate the picturesque scenery out the window during the streetcar journey.

Since there are two kinds of platforms, island platform and side platform, passengers can choose different ways to cross the street, such as pedestrian crossing, underground passage and pedestrian overcrossing. A passenger service system in the platform also helps people see when the next car will arrive.
