Suzhou launches tourism promotion in Shandong

Suzhou recently held a tourism promotion in Jinan and Qingdao in Shandong province, where the city’s tourism bureau introduced seven products, Gusu Evening News reported.

The promotion’s themes included Slow Walk, Water World, Paradise of Lotuses, Cool Resort in Summer, Suzhou Delicacy and World of Fruits.

Slow Walk aims to help people slow down so that they can enjoy the charm of Suzhou. Suzhou’s tourism bureau designed three routes for walking. They are Pingjiang historical area - Suzhou gardens (Zhuozheng Garden, Lion Forest Garden and Ouyuan Garden), Shantang Street - Huqiu Tower and Jinji Lake.

Lv Chengfang, a volunteer from a group focusing on protection of Kunqu Opera in Suzhou, performed Kunqu Opera in Suzhou and in Pingtan, to appreciative audience members in the two cities.

Additionally, Suzhou Amusement Land will host an International Beer Festival to attract travelers. It will provide hundreds of beer from home and abroad, and put on some performances. Meanwhile, a Lakeside Beach Festival opened on June 28 at Suzhou National Wetland Park, and it will continue until Aug 31.
