Taicang ranks top in modern agricultural development

When the Ministry of Agriculture recently published the results of its evaluation of modern agricultural development in China, the city of Taicang, Jiangsu province had an index of 83.8, putting it in first place out of 153 areas, with an average development level of 64.7.

China has 153 modern agricultural demonstration areas, 10 of them in Jiangsu. Taicang was approved as a modern agriculture site, in 2012, and has worked hard to develop its modern agriculture through high-tech facilities, and innovation, with the focus on cooperative farms, agricultural technology, and ecological agriculture and has its own characteristics, which it has spread across the country.

The assessment had 24 parts, including scientific promotion, management and sustainable development.
