Fudan University's School of Life Sciences is building a plant research base in Taicang's Modern Agricultural Park. An anti-bird net is being constructed at the base.

With an investment of over 3 million yuan ($490,000), the base hasan area of 4.67 hectares, and is expected to provide university students with a place to study the growth of plants, including paddy rice, cotton and corn.
