Taicang gets Six-star Charity City Recognition

The third "China Urban Public Charity Index" was revealed at the first China Philanthropy Forum which was held in Beijing on Aug 16. Taicang,on the northern outskirts of Shanghai in Jiangsu Province, received the title of "China Six-star Charity City."

Taicang's ranking of charitable efforts took first place among a total of 33 cities of the same type.

The "China Urban Public Charity Index" has been acclaimed as an "Urban Charity GDP" and divided into three levels – five stars, six stars and seven stars. The index will evaluate a city's charitable efforts according to its social donations, charitable activities, volunteer services, economic contributions, government support and charitable culture.
