Three athletes from Suzhou received medals at the Nanjing Youth Olympic Games, which concluded on August 28.

He Bingjiao, 17, won a gold medal in the women’s badminton singles on August 22. She and Spd Angoda Vidanalage of Sri Lanka won bronze in the badminton mixed doubles on the same day.

Another Suzhou native, Wu Shengping, 18, won two gold medals at the women’s 10-meter platform competition and the women’s 3-meter springboard diving final on August 23 and 25, respectively. On August 27, Wu Shengping and Mohab Elkordy of Egypt won silver at the mixed international team diving final.

Ma Yue, a 16-year-old Suzhou native, won two silver medals in the men’s rings and men’s vault of artistic gymnastics on August 23 and 24, respectively.
