   Suzhou Opera: custom-made extracts from operas recounting the last nurseryman came back to visit family. Kunqu and Suzhou operas will be performed alternately.

Storytelling and ballad singing in Suzhou dialect: A Wonderful Night in Spring; Midnight Bells; Jiangnan Landscape.

4. Master-of-nets Garden (late March-early November, 2014)

Storytelling and ballad singing in Suzhou dialect, Kunqu Opera, bamboo flute, plucked stringed instrument, folk dance and song are available in the garden. Opening time: 19:30—22:00 (ticket office closes at 21:00).

5. Garden Party (2014.9.27-10.26)

i. Midnight Bells painting and calligraphy exhibition and calligraphy competition. A 26,703-meter-long calligraphy work will be displayed, which has been written into the Guinness Book of Records.

6. Water tour in the Garden of Couples' Retreat

Ride a wooden boat at the Pingjiang Road's Daxinqiao wharf to the Garden of Couples' Retreat, listen to folk songs sung by a local girl, and tour the garden, which is a world cultural heritage site.

7. Shantang Golden Week activity

i. South Yangzi string and pipe ensemble at Shantang ancient stage

ii. First large-scale treasure seeking at historical site in the Qilishantang scenic spot

Participation method:

Tourists should seek seven palm civets on Shantang Street, and post their picture with the seven civets to the official Qilishantang Weibo. Their name will then be entered into a lottery session.
