1. Osmanthus Festival in Zijin Temple Time: Sep. 15- Oct. 30

Location: Zijin Temple

Activity: Autumn is the best season for enjoying osmanthus. There is a 500-year-old and two 600-year-old osmanthus trees in Zijin Temple, which is an ideal place to enjoy the beautiful and fragrant osmanthus.

i. Anyone whose name is “Gui” (the Chinese pronunciation of osmanthus) can enter Zijin Temple for free with their ID card.

ii. Tourists to Zijin Temple can all ring the bell and pray for blessings.

2. Qionglong Mountain Refreshment Festival

Location: Suzhou Qionglong Mountain Scenery Precinct

3. Osmanthus Jam Making Festival

Time: Sep.15- Oct.14

Location: Xiangxuehai, Guangfu ancient town

Activity: Guangfu town, one of China’s top 5 osmanthus bases, is an ideal place to enjoy osmanthus during September and October, especially from Sep.15 to Oct.14. Tourists to Xiangxuehai can make osmanthus jam on their own, and a family (2 adults and 1 children) can take one bottle home for free, and the rest for 15 yuan per bottle.

4. BBQ and bonfire party

Time: 18:00-21:00 on Oct.4

Location: Mingfu Orchard (No.1866, Liandong Road, Dongwu village, Linhu town)

The Food Expo during the National Day holiday is a party for Suzhou’s delicious food, including steamed rice cake, fried chicken fillet, jellied bean curd, Crabapple Cake, sugar figurines, and sugar production, etc.

7. The Sixth Taihu Lake Cowboy Festival in 2014

Time: Oct.1-Nov.30

Location: Xiaoxia Bay, Jinting town, Xishan Island, Wuzhong district
