The 13th Suzhou Electronics Manufacturer Exposition (eMEX) is scheduled to be held in the Suzhou International Expo Center during this Oct 16-19, according to a Suzhou government meeting, of Sept 22, where the city’s mayor, Zhou Naixiang, presided.

The exposition, whose theme is “Technology applications and the smart life”, has booked 1,200 booths for several hundred businesses in the 40,000-square-meter area, and has added one new feature this year -- the e-commerce area – where exhibitors can show their goods both in the booths and online and can communicate and trade at an online platform provided by the exposition.

There will also be an eMEX Electronic Sports Competition during the exposition for game and animation enthusiasts from the mainland and Taiwan.

This IT industry event, initiated in 2002, brings in IT manufacturers, R&D people, and purchasing agents from all over the world to show their latest technology and products and to discuss the direction of the IT industry, and its development.

So far, both purchasing agents and interested individuals could be a part of the event, but the organizers have announced that only purchasing agents will be allowed in the exposition for next year’s event.
