The city of Suzhou, Jiangsu province, is beginning construction work in November on Line 3 of its metro system, which is expected to go into use in 2019.

As well as Metro Line 1, Metro Line 3 will be a 45.2-kilometer east-west tram line with a total of 37 stations, which starts from New Area Railway Station in the city's Hi-tech district and ends at Yiting Station in Suzhou Industrial Park.

Work on the first 10 stations to start construction this month will come in two groups, with the Xinting Rd, Huashan Rd, Heshan Rd, Yushan Rd, Hengshan Rd, and Yingchun Rd stations among the first, starting on Nov15, and Wenchang Rd, Zhuyuan Rd, and East Baodai Rd stations in the second, starting on Nov30. The rest of stations will successively start construction in early 2015.

Because of the construction work, some roads will be blocked and traffic re-directed. Information on the tram line can be found in Public Security bulletins.
