Suzhou brings convention and future media together

The city of Suzhou, Jiangsu province was host to the 2014 China Audio-visual Media Development Forum, on Nov 14, where the idea was to examine the convergence of traditional paper media and new media. Taking part in the forum were officials such as Shi Taifeng, deputy secretary of the Jiangsu Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, Tian Jin, deputy director of the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film, and Television, and the city’s mayor, Zhou Naixiang.

Shi thanked the State press Administration for their presence and said that Suzhou has seen some real success in combining the media and intends to keep on reforming and progress in line with the government’s strategy.

In response, Tian said that Suzhou has led the pace in the nation in social and economic development, and media convergence and that the central government will give it the support it needs in future.

The mayor also addressed the forum participants, scholars and professionals from all across the country and said that Suzhou has had a great opportunity to learn the brightest, most experiences minds and is exploring ways to advance media convergence and regional innovation. [Photo/Xinhua]
