Taicang Port, an artery port on the south bank of the Yangtze River estuary, will open a new liner to Inchon of South Korea on Dec 12, 2014. It will be the second barge jointly operated by China Shipping Agency (Taicang) Co and Shanghai Inchon International Ferry Co.

The liner will sail one shift per week. It will facilitate South Korean cargo transport to the southern Jiangsu area through Taicang Port. It will also be a move for the port's further development.

Taicang Port is the largest port along the Yangtze River to transport cargo and boasts the deepest draft. To date, the port has opened 164 shipping routes, including 15 offshore lines to 13 ports such as Japan, South Korea and Taiwan. It offers a daily line to Japan. Thirty-eight domestic lines cover the major coastal ports in the country, and 40 shuttle barges to the Yangshan Port in Zhejiang province link Taicang Port with Shanghai's shipping companies.
