Taicang Port, the top foreign trade port of Jiangsu province, has achieved some success of receiving 300 ships from July 21 to Dec 4, during which its Taicang Express's container throughput topped 200,000 TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent unit).

The express, with ships setting sail from Taicang Port to Yangshan Port in Zhejiang province, was established under the cooperative agreement between Taicang Port and Shanghai Port in a bid to promote Taicang Port as a shipping services provider and a main-line container terminal of Shanghai International Shipping Center.

In addition, the real-time information about the shuttle barges and cargo handling operations can be obtained by an online monitoring system, which was jointly developed by Taicang Port Shanggang Zhenghe Container Terminal Co, 50km to the north of Shanghai; Shanghai Port; and an independent third-party payment platform.
