The town of Dongshan, Jiangsu province, organized a 300-person hiking activity for Dec 31 to welcome in the New Year by taking to the hills of the Dongshan Peninsula for a 15-kilometer, three-hour jaunt.

The event began at 9:00 am, with a bus waiting for the participants at the Dongshan Bus Terminal, while others come in their own cars can park at Dongshan Tourist Service Center.

Anyone who could complete the whole hike was expected to be given a gift from the organizer.

Buses No. 502, 62 and 621 go to Dongshan Bus Terminal and No.581 goes to the Dongshan Tourist Service Center. Dongshan Peninsula, which stretches out into Taihu Lake, is a AAAAA national tourist resort with heritage sites and natural scenery.
