Three angling areas now available on Jinji Lake

Three areas of Suzhou's Jinji Lake have been opened up to anglers from January 2015 onwards. The areas now open for angling activities are Lake Park, on the southwest of Jinji Lake; the body of water to the northern flank of Zhongtang River, and the area east of Fenghuang River on the north of Jinji Lake Bridge.

Anglers who wish to join the activity may apply with the Suzhou Anglers Association and agree to the relevant regulations of the association. Upon acquiring a membership card, anglers may enter any of the three designated fishing areas during the opening hours (6 am to 6 pm) for a maximum duration of 4 hours.

Each member is permitted fish for no more than 60 times a year and must bring no more than two rods, and only one hook per line, according to regulations. Throw rods, lined hooks and other state-prohibited angling outfits are strictly forbidden. Fish species including silver and spotted silver fish are allowed to be caught during the months of July till September only, and the quantity of fish caught is restricted to 15 kilos per fishing session.

There are totally four places for anglers to apply for the membership card with the An original identity card, a copy of the original, and a piece of one-inch color photo are required to apply for one of the following four locations:
